Louisiana Cannabis Policy Candidate Scorecard

October 14, 2023 and November 18 Runoff

Louisiana doesn’t have a citizen initiative process, so the only path to legalization runs through the state legislature and governor. With Gov. John Bel Edwards termed out and the full legislature on the ballot, this fall’s elections will shape the prospects of reform in Louisiana for years to come.

We created a scorecard for all candidates based on incumbents’ voting records and responses from all candidates who returned the cannabis policy survey. You will need to know your legislative districts which can be found here to find the candidates you will be able to vote for.
