This Election Day — Tuesday, November 3, 2020 — voters will decide who will represent them in the White House, 35 U.S. Senate seats, the entire U.S. House of Representatives, 11 governors’ mansions, and dozens of state legislatures. The individuals we elect will hold the fate of cannabis policies in their hands, making decisions on legalization, medical cannabis, expungement, and pardons. Before you cast your votes, check out our cannabis policy voter guides at the links below to find out where your candidates stand on ending the disastrous war on marijuana.   

In addition to electing candidates, in five states, voters themselves will decide whether to legalize and regulate cannabis for adults, medical use, or both. Arizona, Montana, New Jersey, and South Dakota voters will decide adult-use measures, while voters in Mississippi and and South Dakota will consider medical cannabis programs. We’ve included a voter guide with more details about these proposals — including a competing, restrictive measure the legislature put on the ballot in Mississippi.

You can find out what all — and who all — is on your ballot on Ballotpedia’s sample ballot. Be sure to also check out this link for information on where and how you can vote. Many states have expanded eligibility for mail-in-voting due to the pandemic, while some have early voting. If you’re requesting a mail-in ballot, do so well in advance to allow plenty of time for it to reach you.
